Croatia is at the top of Europe in terms of real estate price growth

Housing prices, measured by the housing price index, rose by 4.3% in the second quarter of this year compared to the period January-March 2024. On an annual basis, the average prices of housing were 10% higher. Real estate prices in Croatia continue to rise above the EU and euro area average.

Looking at countries within the euro area, Croatia recorded the strongest annual growth rate in the period April-June. The average price per square meter of a new apartment sold in Croatia in the first half of 2024 was 2,377 euros. At the same time, the average price of a square meter of a new apartment in Zagreb was 2,830 euros, which is 7.9 percent more than the year before, and in other settlements it was 2,059 euros or 7.5 percent more, according to data from the State Statistics Office (DZS).

According to data from Prodaja-nekretnina.com, the average price per square meter of new construction in Zagreb in the period VI-IX / 2024 was slightly more than 3320.00 / m2, while in the same period the price per 1m2 in Rijeka was 3700-3800 EUR.
